Choosing Maui as the location of your wedding means you are off to  Perfect Beginnings!

You already have found the perfect place to begin this journey! The natural beauty of the island is everywhere providing  perfect and spectacular backdrops for your photos and ceremony so every spot is the perfect spot your wedding.

For most of us planning our wedding is probably the most important event we will ever plan throughout our life.

Therefore, the selection of a location is important. As native Hawaiians and lifetime residents we will make that easier on you. When you have completed the questionnaire this will help us to see what type of setting you are looking for.

Once you have made a choice we will make those arrangements for you and plan out all the details of your wedding, relieving stress and making a dream come true.

The possibilities are endless and can be as extravagant  or as intimately simple as you desire.

Options for your ceremony include a secluded beach, resorts, a chapel, on a mountain top, out at sea, on another island, at a volcano or even in front of a natural waterfall. Your imagination  is the only limitation!!!

To help you decide on where and when to have your ceremony we thought it might be helpful to give you some general information about the island and the various areas.

Although Maui is an island the contrast in areas can be great and even more so during certain times of the day or year. Maui is basically five general areas.

 South Maui

South Maui not very long ago was an undeveloped area covered in kiawe and only had a few hotels and eateries.  The extraordinary stretches of beach in this area were hidden to the general public. However, today these same beaches are host to several luxurious resorts and homes. This area encompasses Kihei, Wailea and McKenna. The beaches in this area are beautiful and offer the perfect setting for beach weddings. Sunsets in this area are spectacular. Rain is minimal. Unless you will be on top of Haleakala or in Hana this is the best option for a sunrise wedding ceremony.  Many of the resorts in the area have gardens that can be used for a fee. There are also churches and chapels.  South Maui is about, depending on what part of it you are in is about one hour form West Maui and half an hour from Central Maui.

West Maui

This area is the first resort destination on Maui. It is host to several world class resorts and condos. West Maui allows for you to go from the hub of activity to the quietness of  Kapalua in minutes. The beaches in this area are very beautiful and provide a perfect setting for your wedding photos and videos. This area's weather can vary greatly from spot to spot during certain times of the year. Some beaches may be sandy during the summer and rocky during the winter. The farther north you go the chances of rain and wind increase. Even though these areas are only minutes apart they can vary greatly. Sunsets from this side of the island are beautiful, rain or shine.  Sunrise ceremonies can be held here also but you will miss the lighting effects since light arrives before the sun on this side of the island. Depending on where you are in West Maui and the time of day it takes about one hour to reach Kihei and 30 to 40 minutes to get to central Maui and 40 minutes to  one hour to get to Upcountry. Most of the resorts in the area offer a  wedding spot with a fee. There are many historical churches in this area available for weddings.

Central Maui

As the name of this area suggests it is the central part of Maui. The business hub as well as the government seat is here. There are a few beach parks here that can be used for weddings. The beaches in general are windy and rough. Alot of wind surfing is done in this area and of course if this is your sport this might be ideal for you. There are many churches in this area and just a handful of hotels. These are small and used mostly by interisland  travelers. There are a couple of private gardens in the area that permit weddings for a fee. The largest shopping mall is also located here almost directly across the community college. The Maui Arts and Cultural Center is also located in this area.

Upcountry Maui

This is the area that is on the slopes of the volcano Haleakala. Sometimes it is lumped in with central Maui. There are a few churches for weddings and some private estates with beautiful gardens. The summit of Haleakala is above it all here and may be seen on most days. It is said the sunrise is first seen from here but it is not ideal for weddings as it is so cold. The view from here is incredible as you can see almost the whole island in one panoramic sweep. This area is cooler all year long and is very green for most of the year. There is of course alot of rainfall here. This area is abut 25 minutes from central Maui, almost 40 minutes to South Maui and about one hour to West Maui.

East Maui

Of all the areas on Maui this is the most beautiful anytime of the year. This area  untouched by development  offers a glimpse into old Hawaii and her people. The beaches here add drama as well as beauty to your wedding photos. Waterfalls can be found most times of the year very easily and for free. Sometimes it may require a little work to get to one or you may have to settle for one along side the road!! There are some really beautiful ones right off the highway at times of the year. (Rainy season makes more available). The journey to this area and back takes all day. So if you would like to get married in this paradise it will require careful and detailed planning to make it perfect but it is possible. There are several houses for rent and one very nice hotel.
